| However, the meeting opened on a more sombre note when the Brethren stood in respect to departed merit after the death on the previous day of a much liked and well respected member of the Lodge, Bro. Harold Ford PProvAGStB. |

| The Advancement ceremony was conducted in a fine manner by the Worshipful Master Alwyn Johnson ably assisted by the Officers of the Lodge including an excellent explanation of the Working Tools by a senior member of the lodge, W.Bro Brian Skinner PGStdB. |
| After the meeting the brethren enjoyed a fine meal in a friendly and convivial festive board which served to highlight to the newest member of the Order that the Mark Degree is indeed the ‘Friendly Degree’ |
